Working with one colour
For Blue Hours we lit a whole editorial with one colour. Here is how we set it up.
We used two blue gels, a silk scrim and a single hard light from the side. One colour makes skin, fabric and background talk to each other.
It also hides a lot: seams, set edges, the studio floor. If you try it, keep the white balance fixed and let the camera see blue as blue.
